who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:6-11)

Heavenly Father,

You are the sovereign Lord of lords and King of kings.  I place my hope and trust in you and not in any political figure or party. I take comfort in the fact that you harden and soften the hearts of sinful people and nothing will come to pass that you do not ordain or use for your glory.  No president or representative would have power unless you gave it to them.  You are the one who sits enthroned above all.  I commit my trust to you knowing that whatever will pass will be your sovereign ordained means that will work for your glory and my good.

I place my hope in you alone because if you can use the wickedness of evil rulers in Jesus day, sending Him to the cross so that I might have redemption from my sins, then I am confident you can work all things for my good.  Jesus did not come to set up an earthly kingdom, that  would only disappoin, instead He made a way to His eternal kingdom for sinners bought by His blood.

Let Your Spirit always remind me of your coming kingdom.  My hope is be with You in Heaven where we will not look to elected officials, but to you.  My hope is for Christ second coming when everyone from the least to the greatest will bow before Him and acknowledge His majesty.  Jesus, come soon for your bride.  Rule so that all the earth can see and confess You as Lord to the glory of God the Father.
