We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” As nice that sounds Obama has missed the mark because he makes change about us, the essence of true change is found in the hope that God has given us through His sovereignty over His creation. Mark Dever says the following about 2nd Chronicles:  “It teaches that our situations can change, because we can change.  and we can change because there is a God who who speaks and gives life!  That is why we can hope.” There is a God who is the fortress and rock in these changing times and being united to Him through Christ is the essence of hope!

  1. You make a good point when it comes to the source of personal, existential change. However, in our form of government ‘We the people’ are the government and when united we can bring change to our government, to which, I think Mr. Obama was referring given the context.
