Help Me Improve The Lives of Children With Cancer

Dear Friends and Family,

In 2010 I ran my first marathon, the Baltimore Marathon, as a member of charity group Cool  Kids Campaign.  I am currently preparing to run the Baltimore Marathon for a second time, once again with the Cool Kids Campaign.  The Cool Kids Campaign website is

The mission of the Cool Kids Campaign to is provide kids with cancer and their families with a higher quality of life while facing the challenges of cancer.  All of the money that I raise will go to supporting the Cool Kids Learning Center which opened in the fall of 2011.

The vision for the facility reinforces what we have always set out to do: remember that kids are kids whether they are healthy or sick! Kids just want to fit in and have fun, and our sincerest hope is that the Learning Center will be a safe, secure foundation on which to build their lives after cancer.

Mission and Goals of the Learning Center
The core focus of the Learning Center will be to address the academic and social implications of childhood cancer. Our primary goals are to:

  • Provide educational support for kids so they continue to perform and re-enter school at grade level.
  • Make available the social and extracurricular activities lost to the disease during these formative years.

Being a new father this cause means a lot to me.  I can’t even begin to fathom what it would be like if Miya was diagnosed with cancer.  This is the reason why I chose to support The Cool Kids Campaign, they come alongside families in tough times to helps kids who are fighting for their lives.

I am asking that you take time to prayerfully consider helping me raise support for The Cool Kids Campaign.  I have the privilege to run and although I may never find a cure for cancer I can use my hobby of running to make a difference in the lives of kids battling cancer, but not without your help.  Running 26.2 miles will be a tough task and it will be a sacrifice to carve out the time to train, but my sacrifice is nothing compared to that which families who have kids with cancer make everyday.  Thank you for sacrificing your time to read this and if you are interested in making a monetary sacrifice you can do it here:
